Machine Project in LA made a forest in their gallery! I love when artists bring the outdoors in. They’re screening vampire movies in the forest, giving a lecture on Bigfoot (it exists!), hosting a pancake breakfast, and–all in one day–a musician that encourages you to nap, then a lecture about elves, then a midnight music show.
It’s up through the month. It’s a little sad that LA is so polluted that they have to rely on kooky artists for any exposure to nature, but hey, what do you expect. I hate LA but I love some of the art they produce.
Once, amazing photographer Eli Stertz covered his living room floor in grass. I think it was winter, and we all sat with our toes on the sod, drinking wine and laughing hysterically.
